چکیده:
A comprehensive study was conducted to investigate the presence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the industrial contaminated soils (IC) of Kermanshah province to evaluate contamination and their ecological risk. Surface soil samples (0–30 cm) from 20 sampling sites were collected and analyzed for 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. In IC soil samples, PAHs have a mean value of 56.31 mg/kg, ranging from 6.59 to 662.83 mg/kg. The ecological risk assessment of PAHs showed that adverse effects would occasionally occur in the IC soils based on the effects range low (ERL)/effects range median (ERM) and the toxic equivalency factors (TEF). The results revealed that the PAHs levels in the soil samples, would possible and Probable-effects to the environment and organisms. The result of the toxic equivalency factors based on benzo (a) pyrene equation (BaPeq) values suggests that the carcinogenic potency of PAHs should be given more attention due to potential environmental risk in the study area, and appropriate remedial measures should be carried out to minimize the adverse effects of long-term exposure on local inhabitants
